Nike vs Adidas

Look away if you don't care about football.

A competitive match between Nike and Adidas stars is something I'd pay good money to watch. Nike seems to be the stronger team, according to me. Anyway, here's the break down:

Nike

Valdez

Danny Alves
Puyol
Ferdinand
Evra

Ronaldo
Pirlo
Fabregas
Ribery

Torres
Ibrahimovic

Adidas

Van der Sar

Lahm
Carvalho
Pepe
Ashley Cole

Lampard
Kaka
Gerrard

Messi
Villa
Benzema

Did I miss anyone?

Pirlo... seriously??

I'd say Adidas is the stronger team. Better work rate. But Nike has the better defence, except for keeper.

Why these keepers anyway?

Nike IMO...is this happening? Or is it just another wickedly cool idea like the All Star thing?

@Agent Zero

Keepers suck cause the good ones (Casillas, Buffon, etc) wear Lotto, Reebok etc.

And Pirlo's a good central midfielder according to me.

@Loon

Its not happening unfortunately. But I think I'll elaborate on the "other" All Star Game soon.

Pirlo was good. His form this season sucks. I'm assuming you're going by that.

And since Lampard and Gerrard famously can't play together, I'd put Xavi ahead of one of them.

Yeah, Xavi did come to mind, but only after I posted the thing.

And come to think of it, Sneijder or van der Vaart would have been a better choice instead of Pirlo.

If this list was made 8-9 years ago, he would have made it to the squad.

@ Loon
Fact - Milan have statistically played much better without Pirlo this season than with him. He just sucks right now, unfortunately.

Hasn't Carrick switched from Puma to Nike?

Nope...he still wears Puma Kings.

@ Loon

I suppose it's like watching Metallica in 2009 for what they were decades ago. The name's still the same, but the similarities end there.

My dangerous foray into a football post ends here lol...
